Chris Underwood . . . thanks for your last reply to this problem.
You mentioned 17 database files . . . I only count 15, they are:
.adb, .adx,
..dbf, .des, .edb, .edx, .fpt, .grp, .grx, .hdb, .hdx, .mdx, .mud,
.ndb, and .ndx. What am I missing when I copy??
My system at the office is networked on a server, for several of us
brokers and all my own files are prefixed like gary.adb, gary.adx,
etc, etc. When I copied it the first time on my Zip drive to take
home, I copied ALL of Actwin2 . . . then had to delete a whole bunch
because I also had database info. from the 6 other brokers, too . .
.and I don't want those. Just my own contacts. I deleted all the 15
database files for jim, brett, jim o', rommie, dan and denny. Did I
delete something I shouldn't have?
Thanks for your help.
GaryB.
PS . . . When I copied the first time, I did copy everything onto my
hard disk at home, so I have the same version 2.09 in both places.
(except I did delete the other brokers leads from the Zip drive
first, before copying my leads onto the hard drive at home) So maybe
I deleted 2 of the 17 files I need. Yet when I count the files on
our server here in the office, I still only get the 15 that I listed
above.

Hello Gary,
I was confused when I say 17 files. There are 17 files in an ACT! 3.0
database and only 15 in an ACT! 2.0 database. I am not sure of what
may have been deleted. It sounds as if they are all there. I would
recommend only backing up the 15 database files for your database and
then take just those home instead of the whole program directory.
Then copy those 15 files to your ACTWIN2\DATABASE directory on your
local C:. See if the issues continue.
Let us know how that goes.
