are returning strings full of garbage characters now that I've
upgraded to Winfax 9. Both My code (and the SDK example) work
correctly under Winfax 8, and both display the same errors under
Winfax 9.

Sounded like a config problem to me, but multiple re-installs and
testing on a fresh machine yield the same results for me -- both
under Windows 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0. Any ideas?
