Talkworks does not detect my modem!

I run a Gateway G6-266 with Windows 98 & I've installed TalkWorks
2.0. The program has not detected my Gateway Telepath for Windows
with X2 & tells me I should install a configured modem. Windows
detects the modem & it operates flawlessly in other applications.
Your product cannot even detect my modem! I cannot send or receive
faxes.

I would appreciate a detailed, competent & prompt response.
