I need to share a voice/fax modem for SMS messaging and need to be
able to turn off (and on again) winfax/talkworks.
This follows a DejaNews search which turned up the following
suggestion (below) from Symantec technical support ....
Thanks in advance

Hi Lore;
You may need to speak to other programmers, as we don't have a list.
Return to Ask A Tech at http://www.symantec.com and post this
question
in the SDK group.

There are no specific command line switches for WinFax/Talkworks, however,
you can control WinFax via other applications using DDE or the WinFax PRO
SDK
If you want to disable WinFax from holding the COM port to allow usage for
another application, you can turn Auto-Receive OFF via DDE (GoIdle command)
or use the equivalent SDK command (AutoReceive).
For more details, you may wish to consult the SDK documentation on your
WinFax PRO 9.0 CD ROM, or search for DDE in the online Help.
Sincerely,
