cannot insert file when sending fax

I am not sure if this is the right newsgroup to post question about
Winfax, especially now Symantec no longer supports Winfax.

This is something that's quite recent, so I am not sure which program
altered this. When sending a fax, "insert file" option is grayed out,
such that I cannot select it. If I "print" a file to Winfax, then the
"annotation" option is grayed out. Either way I can't do much with the
fax I want to send out.

Symantec support used to tell usres to just re-install Winfax for
almost every problem, so I am wondering if there's any solution to
this otherwise?
