Configuration Information:
Platform: Windows NT
Network type: Windows NT
Version of norton antivirus: --Other--

I have installed Network Administrator and have the NAV 5.0 source
files, options, and current virus definitions in the proper places.
I know the all the settings are correct because the Network
Administrator worked with version 4.x. NAV installs fine, but when
it tries to update, it first says that the installation failed. It
then tries to update again and says:

An error occurred renaming a file: "Cannot create a file when the
file already exists." (error #183)
Current File Name: c:\winnt\system32\comctl32.dll
New File Name: c:\winnt\system32\comctl32.bak

If I try to skip the file the update fails. I tried deleting the .bak
file, but the system says that the file is in use.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Allan Capps

Hi Allan,

Thanks for writing into us at Norton AntiVirus Support.

I am going to need to look into this problem. This is the first one that I
have received on installing NAV 5.0 with the Network Manager and need to
see if it will work OK.

I will try to get back to you Monday on this.
