Using Ghost 10 backups fail with error message about not being able to read
certain LBA blocks.
Tried chkdisk, no problems.
Windows system backup works OK.
Tried defrag.
Anyone any ideas on this?

Ghost 2003 works fine for me(about 4 years).
Later versions have had some bad press.
2003 works from a freedos boot. No Windows needed.
(as far as I know....)

Yes I had 2003 and it worked fine. I then upgraded to G10 and it has worked
OK for some time until I got this problem. Unfortunately I threw 2003 away
in a clearout, wish I hadn't.
I am seriously thinking of going to Acronis.

Doesn't G10 give an opton to make a standalone bootable CD?
That would give you back maybe your gost2003 capabiblity.

Possibly but this gets away from the question in my post which is my
inability to make a Ghost image
