I have had a "No bootable device" error recently after trying to
install MAC OS X for PC on a partition (Dell Latitude D830 laptop;
with no success...). After booting from Hiren's bootable CD I used
Symantec Deploy Center's Image Center (because Ghost actually didn't
start from the CD) to make a hard drive image (.pqi file) on an
external drive.
After formatting, partitioning the hard drive and reinstalling Windows
XP, I am trying to restore the .pqi file, but first it said that the
image file will only be restored on unallocated free space on the
drive, so I freed up enough space. Tried again, and IC said the MBR is
not okay, should he repair it? After clicking yes, now IC says the
hard drive is "bad" with 0 MB data (while of course I can see data on
it in Windows etc.)
Any solutions? I know it marks the drive as "bad" not to have data
loss for some reason, but I couldn't find a fix yet and I need the
files from that image.
I would appreciate any constructive idea...
Cheers, Bob
