I was recently (well, okay, in January) given Norton Utilities 7 OS X
by a friend (okay, an acquaintance with the schedule of a Senator and
an address three states away from mine). I thought it was going to be
the full, bootable CD-ROM or an image of same: turns out it was just
the core installer. I'd like to be able to burn an Emergency Disk (ie,
a bootable Mac OS X CD with all requisite NUM 7 files and apps on it),
from which I can run Disk Doctor and such cleanly and without
interruption. So far trying to do so from the hd has consistently run
into some problem or another where the DD app advises I boot from such
a CD and run the checks from there.

I have the BootCD util that's been floating around legitimate archives
and pirate nets since last year, as well as all of my ordinary OS X and
Jaguar install disks and upgrade patches (already burned to CD as mine
is not the only Mac in my household that's OS X-capable). Does anyone
know -- as I have not been able to find such at Symantec's site for
support -- if there is a PDF doc or other documentation for creating
such an animal when one does _not have the original NUM 7 X on CD?
