Hi Curt:
First, increase the amount of memory allocated to Disk Doctor at
launch by single clicking on the Disk Doctor icon in the "NORTON
UTILITIES:NORTON TOOLS" folder. Then go to the menubar and select
"FILES:GET INFO". At the bottom is the amount of memory that Disk
Doctor asks for at launch. Double the numbers and close the window.
Runs Disk Doctor gain. If it still freezes, copy Disk Doctor from
the hard drive to floppy, boot from the NUM CD ROM or from your
Apple OS CD ROM and run Disk Doctor from the floppy. If it still
freezes, you have a bad blocks problem on the drive. You will need
to back-up the drive, do a low-level reformat (NOT an initialize - an
initialize simply clears out the directory it does not remark the
drive) and include a surface scan to find and lock out bad blocks.
You can then reload the hard drive.
This should solve your problems.
