Hello Gus,

-81 is a drive error that indicates that a specific sector couldn't be
found. My guess is that it means that the Jaz unit has a problem or the
Jaz cart has a problem.

The simplest test would be to low-level reformat the Jaz cart with
either the Iomega software or a third party formatter.

If that passes OK, then reboot with extensions off and see if that
solves the copy issue. It may seem strange but rebooting with
extensions off can solve some issues related to large file copies.

After the reformatting, you may also want to rerun NDD to see if its
media check goes any better. If it does, it's possible that SD will
work better as well.
