Help me please!! We have archived all our work (sob!) using
DiskDoubler, and am now finding that when expanding Photoshop files,
some are corrupted (they open op distorted). I can't pinpoint exactly
whether it is just EPS files that are the problem, TIFFS seem to be
more stable. Is anyone having this trouble - we have one machine
running on system 7 to accomodate diskdoubler (what bright spark
decided to end compatibility with system 8?). Reinstalling the
software hasn't helped.
I am looking into using other compression software - any
recommendations?
Any advise would be gratefully received.
Thanks, Carolien

Hello Carolien,
I'm very sorry to hear about the problems your having. There are no
known issues with distortion as all of the compression options in NDD
Pro are lossless (no data is ever lost in the compression process). I'm
not really sure what would cause such a change in the files.
For other compression options, I would look to Aladdin for a updated
application.
As to compatibility, it was Apple that ended compatibility with NDD
Pro. Our decision was not to rewrite the program for continued
compatibility with the newer OS. It's already an issue more than a year
old but, in short, it came down to resources. We simply didn't have
enough people around to work on all the separate programs we had going
at the time. We are still looking into other options for our customers
but I'm not sure where that will endup. I know that doesn't explain
much but I hope it helps some.
