Using VCAFE Enterprise 3.1a, I attach to WebLogic that I started using
debugvm.
I am able to quit and restart vcafe. Each time that I exit, I get
The instruction at "0x204f2a31" reference memory at "0x00000000".
The memory could not be "read".

If I exit vcafe and stop Weblogic, I am no longer able to
restart vcafe.
I tried vcafe -clean and removing the cache directory.
Note that I have vcafe options set to not open the last
project when starting again.
I have found that I can get started again if I re-install
the 3.1A patch again, but that is a pain. Any ideas
on what installing the patch does to clean things up?

Stephen,

I believe that you are seeing an error message on start up because
something your Visual Café project is corrupted. Start VC by double
clicking on a .java file. Visual Café is set to start up, by default,
with your last open project. In Visual Café, go to the Tools >
Environment Options tab, and click the radio button that says "Do
Nothing" on start up. Doing this will prevent Visual Café from
starting with a potentially corrupt project. To clean out a corrupt
project:
- Go to the project directory and delete the ve2, vep, vws, and cdb
files (you basically want to get rid of all but the source files).
- Start Visual Cafe and create a new project of type Empty Project
- Save the new project into the existing project folder (where your
source files are).
- Use Insert->Files Into Project to add your source files to the new
empty project
- Go to Project->Options and make sure all of your settings are
specified correctly
- Choose Save All and Project->Rebuild All
This should eliminate the errors that you are receiving from Visual
Café.
