Hi Annette,
No versions of Q&A are certified to be year 2000 compliant. To be fully
year 2000 complaint, programs have to be able to handle the year 2000
correctly with dates that have two digit years. Q&A will consider the
year 00 to be 1900.
However, you can easily work around this issue in all versions of Q&A by
simply converting your databases to use a 4 digit year instead of a two
digit year. If you do that, then you can enter the whole year and thus
avoid any problem. From the Q&A DOS Main Menu, go to FILE, DESIGN FILE,
REDESIGN FILE, and select your database. Then press the F10 key twice to
get to the GLOBAL FORMAT OPTIONS screen. Then simply go down to the DATE
option, and choose one of the format numbers that uses a 4 digit year.
That will then convert your date fields to four digits.
Note, you may also need to adjust the field length on the form itself to
fit the two extra numbers in. So do double check the field on the form as
well. If there is a closing greater than symbol on the field length ( >
), then you may need to move that over a couple of spaces to fit the extra
digits.
Because of a drive space issue, please verify that the date of QA1.EXE is
5-19-89 or newer. If it is older than 5-19-89 the drive limit is 33 megs
instead of 2 gigs.
Hope you are having a great day!
