Q&A for Dos 5.0 interoperability with Q&A for WINDOWS 4.0

Our company uses succesfully Q&A database files as well in Q&A for
Dos 4.0 as in Q&A for Windows 4.0.
We just purchased Q&A for Dos 5.0. What do we need to use the now
converted Q&A 5.0 files with our Q&A for Windows 4.0 as the
interoperability disk we have, don't seem to work. Is there a special
interoperability disk for Q&A 5.0 ?
Any help or suggestion welcome.

Luc,

You already have what you need in order to get Q&A 4.0 Windows to work with
Q&A 5.0 database files.

Look in the program folder where you have installed Q&A 5.0 for DOS. In
that folder you will see another folder named \QAWIN If you look into that
folder, you will find a text file with instructions on how to run a patch
in the folder that will update Q&A 4.0 for Windows to allow it to work with
the Q&A 5.0 DOS file format.

Note that this patch does not give Q&A 4.0 Windows any of the new features
that are in Q&A 5.0 for DOS. But what it will do is import the support for
the file format, so that the program will be able to work with your
databases that have been created under Q&A 5.0 for DOS.

So go ahead and install this patch, and you will then be able to use both
products together just fine.
