The April 23 Live Update of Norton Internet Security 2005 ran as normal
until it instructed me that a re-boot was necessary. After that neither
Outlook, connected to Charter Communications, nor Outlook Express, connected
to Big Planet, would work.

Customer service determined that if I clear outgoing mail by dropping it in
the drafts folder, and disable Norton Internet Security, Outlook Express
will download emails, but lock up on attempts to send.

Multiple rebuilds of Outlook reports complete but still email crashes
Outlook with or without Internet Suite turned off.

Newsgroups function normally with Internet Suite turned on.

I'm running WinXP Home on a 90 day old HP tower with 1.5GB memory, 150GB
free disk, latest revisions of software for Office 2003, etc.

Any suggestions welcomed.

I have the same problem. News groups work fine but outlook can not establish
a connection with my ISP.

I'd suggest you run Outlook/Help/Detect and Repair. I had to run it twice to
keep Outlook from locking.

Then on the next Norton automatic update, everything went back to working as
normal.
