Norton Ghost 9.0 Query

I am having a problem with Incremental backups on my Win 2k machine, using
norton Ghost 9.0

I have performed a Base Backup, but when I later specify an Incremental, it
invariably produces another Full Backup, even though Incremental is shown as
having been selected.

The instruction manual is not at all clear, and I don't believe Norton offer
any technical support for this version.

Can someone tell me why this might be occurring please?

Is there a later version that might be more user friendly, and which is
compatible with my existing backup files?

I made a mistake in my previous post. I referred to my Win2k machine. I
should have said WinXP
