How to make Visual Cafe to show parse error messages?

How can I make Visual Cafe (2.5a PDE, updated yesterday) to show parser error
messages? I have a very stubborn project (pure Swing stuff) that VCafe
refuses to parse correctly. For performance reasons, only the GUI class has
RAD enabled but now I just gives the (now infamous :) "... cannot evaluate
... tagged section..." message, but no other error messages is shown. I have
tried all previously mentioned solutions (commenting, reverted to a previous
version) and no change. I even created a new project based on the old files,
but now the GUI class refuses to show itself in the Objects pane. I did
change some code by hand, but those changes were lost when I reverted back to
the old backup version.
By the way, why does the IDDE alter the workspace randomly? I mean, when
change from workspace to another it either does or does not change the
workspace. And when I change again, the workspaces have become identical. Not
always, but too often. And sometimes after change, the Messages window is
lost. It is quite frustrating to re-configure the screen every now and then.
