What you are trying to do won't work with the JDK 1.02. You can get
this functionality from JDK 1.1.

You need to get a reference to your Applet that the components in
question can use. If you are creating an Application, then you will
need to simulate an Applet object.
For more in depth information, please refer to the provided source code
to these components. This should help you to identify exactly what
needs to be done.
