I installed VC 2.5 on my D: disk.
When I run VC from the start menu, I get
a pop-up screen with "A required resource is unavailable".
Then in the message box there is:
Error:D:\VisualCafePDE\jfc\com\sun\java\swing\plaf\basic\
Spinner.java(435):missing term, had instead','
Error:D:\VisualCafePDE\jfc\com\sun\java\swing\plaf\basic\
Spinner.java(436):missing term, had instead','
The autoexec.bat seemed to be updated correctly, and the Path
includes all VC directories. I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling VC. I also
tried deleting the *.rps, *.reg, and *.vws files in the Bin
directory. There was no previous version of VC.
Also, initially I created a shortcut and started the jdk.exe in
the Bin directory. It also failed, but I have uninstalled and
installed since then. I have Windows 95,
Pentium II, 64MB. The 6G disk is partitioned into three
2G disks. There is plenty of room on the disks, and
there were no problems during install. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Justice Percell
Hello Justice,
The first thing we should do is stop the JIT from loading at boot
time. To do this, edit the SC.INI file in your c:\visualcafedbde\bin
directory. Add in this line at the top of the file:
JAVA_COMPCMD=disable
This should cause the JIT to stop at boot time. Delete those three
files again, and start Visual Cafe.
Let us know how it works!
