That's one way to approach the problem. Another would be to standardize
the names of the images, (i.e. TopLeft.jpg, Banner.jpg,
AnimalOfTheWeek.jpg) and simply rename copies the new graphics to these
page defined names, and replace the old files with these names on the
server.
This is the very type of thing that a site management facility is catered
to. Right now, only our Windows version of Visual Page (v2.0) has site
management. (Not to recommend that you switch platforms just for this, but
it may well be worth it. Vive le Mac!)

Thank you, Scott, for your reply. I am not (so much) concerned about
the image-map graphics itself. In fact what you suggest is what I
have done, namely to replace on the server the file of the "outdated"
image with the new one, giving it the same name. The trickier part
are the links associated with the image-map. If they change, then I
did not find any other way than "cut" and "paste" (at least not with
Visual Page 1.1.1 on the Mac -- I did get another product which
allows me to do that). But it's good to hear that version 2 addresses
that issue.
