Hello--

I downloaded the 1.1 demo for the Mac, and initially, I liked it so much
that I decided to go ahead and purchase. On really *using* Visual Page
1.1 I am finding it to be in some cases so completely frustrating, that
I am considering returning the software as soon as it arrives.

First of all, I question why there is not javascript support for
68000-series macs, when IE4 and NS 3 will run javascript on these
machines just fine. I program in something simple like rollover
graphics, and I can't preview-- I have to actually go out to a browser.

Secondly, something as simple as table graphics is completely screwed up
to the point that even if the table is exactly the appropriate vertical
size of the combined vertical sizes of the graphics in each row of a
single column, and there are no cellpadding, spacing, scaling, or border
issues, there are STILL gaps between the cells that CANNOT be removed by
resizing the table. In fact, there is a point where the table will not
even resize by using the handles once the graphics are placed. Even
when there are NO gaps between tables or cells visible on the posted
HTML, viewed in either NS or IE, VisualPage still shows gaps between
separate tables or cells when viewing the page in it's editor/previewer.

Clearly, although this is a good tool and has a lot of nifty features
not to mention very robust operation, but it definitely has a ways to
go. If there is not a trivial solution to this, I'll definitely be
looking at PageMill.

It's not a matter of 68K support, the fact of the matter is that Visual
Page is purely an HTML oriented tool and will not perform javascripts in
its Preview mode. It's just not designed to do it. You can add javascripts
within Visual Page's source editor, you will just need to preview them
using the "Preview in Browser" command rather than in the regular Preview
mode.

There are a few significant improvements and fixes to our table handling
in the Visual Page 1.1.1 update, which do not appear in the Trial version.
I would encourage you to try them out. Keep in mind that you can return
the product at any time within the first 60 days for a full refund, so you
can go ahead and install the software and try it out at no risk.

Also, tables and their properties can be a source of confusion and
frustration in their own right, even when the software is functioning
perfectly well. Tables have a variety of cell properties which can be
combined to achieve a variety of desired effects; conversely, if these
various cell properties are combined haphazardly or in contradiction to
one another, your tables can become wretched, unmanageable messes. We have
a great tech document on the use of tables which could be very helpful to
you called, "Tips for Using Tables in Visual Page" which can be accessed
