Found this on Facebook marketplace via an ad for the supplies organiser draw. Amazingly the foam and rubber parts are still good and like new after 30+ years.

No USB C yet.
The case does have plenty of room inside for a wireless server to spool the hpgl file and stream it via serial to the plotter.
it's a bit of a hassle having a laptop tethered to the plotter for the long plots over an hour
