Hi all!

I am looking for a space to finish up my woodworking project. It involves power sanding, which generates 95db noise and a small amount of dust not caught by the vac. I expect the noisy bits to take 30 minutes on and off, and the dust will be wiped of course.

1. Would y'all be okay with me doing this at the space?
2. Is there a time (on a Saturday) I should aim for where the noise would be less disturbing for others?
3. I have my own orbital sander, HEPA-filtered shopvac, a drill, and a crappy saw. Do you have any of these on-site so I can bring less stuff?
4. Any chance you also have a wood router and someone to show me how to use it?

I've never been onsite before, so I'm happy to come in for a vibe check and a chat before you let me run loose.

Hi Kate,

You'd be more than welcome to complete your project at the space, however I should say that it isn't the absolute best for woodwork projects in terms of space and equipment.

It doesn't matter a whole lot what time you come, members are typically very understanding of noise, but I do find that it tends to be quieter from open (round 11) until 1 or 2.

There is also a good amount of outdoor space where you're able to do some loud work if you're worried.

There is a Mitre Saw at the space and a few drills, I think there is an orbital sander too but not 100% sure.

I do not believe there is a traditional wood router but we do have a CNC router. If a trained member is there they can show you how to use it.

Your first visit is free so please feel free to come on down and attempt as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

Cheers
Andrew
