I just acquired an UPBOX and got some very nice ABS prints today, though nothing big yet. Easy to clean off the raft and support and very smooth surfaces.

Which leaves the rather vexing question of how to clean the raft material off the perfboard, which is rather bigger than the UP! equivalent.
Arduously chipped off the first one, but the next are even tighter into the little holes.

Thinking I will make a tray out of aluminium sheet and JBweld metal glue with glass cover, to make an acetone bath.
Luckily I'm not afraid of acetone, apart from the flammability (nicer than other organic solvents, given its synthesised by your body).

Anyone got alternative theories on how to clean the perfboards ??
I'm thinking JBweld will be acetone-proof, but acetone is pretty aggressive stuff.

I've adjusted my nozzle height so it doesn't stick that down into the perf board and am using a 'poker' to poke the filament out from the holes.

Works well, using thumb tacks as the poking element but you have to pick the thinner ones that go through the holes as the perf board holes are smaller than standard PCB holes.

Which reminds me, bugger, I need to do a video... Congrats on the Up Box purchase :)  I think I need to convince people to buy more :)

We have two Boxes at work that are very solid performers. I'm thinking of one for myself.

Hmm, make a super-poking tool with a few dozen pins all clustered together, in the pattern of the perfboard?

I actually leave the ABS within the perferations. As when the board heats up, the ABS on the board helps anchors the print job

Happily I acquired an almost exactly fitting baking tin from Smart Dollar in Newtown, so can dissolve off the raft in about 1/2 hour using about 300ml of acetone (except what's in the holes, which I agree is not worth worrying about). I have a sheet of glass over the top to prevent evaporation.

Thinking that reusing the acetone will likely give the perfboards a useful overall stickiness for ABS.

Also working on adjusting the nozzle height, as the automatic procedure appears to set it too high (which perversely means closer to the perfboard).
As well as ingrained raft syndrome, I was getting some clicking from the extruder when printing the base layer, which likely means its too squished.
