That would be excellent! I personally have a RasPi, but I'm not a real fan of it. This is primarily because of the issues I encounter quite a lot of the time.

I won't go into great detail here, but just one of the things I dislike is how easy it is to "fry your pi". Power issues with peripherals and crazy "bugs" with different sd cards are just a few things.

It is easy to fry almost every electronics board, and I wouldn't pin it as a problem of the Pi.  :)  After you fry your first expensive/inexpensive piece of kit, you learn to be more careful the next time - it is a learning experience.

I presume when you mean power issues you mean the USB power issues, browning out if you have an inadequate supply etc?  All part of my upcoming rant ;)

slightly off topic given the thread, but what issues did you get with
the raspberry pi?
I have one as a media center and originally was using the raspbmc images.
They had issues, mostly network related (indirectly)

When i switched to openelec i've found it much more stable and much more
responsive.

the other issue i had was voltage drop from my power supply, the early
pi's had a poly fuse on the usb socket and the voltage drop across just
that component was often .3 or .4 of a volt, enough to make the pi do
strange things.
I got round this by using an overspecced power supply.

Yeah, I got the Australian Alert @ 2pm yesterday.  

The OzberryPi group is getting some for our shared hardware pool... so if you are a member you can borrow one for a tire kicking if you like.

Like a library. Checkout some kit for a week or three to... well... check it out.

Yeah it's just a library... set a time limit, create a spreadsheet. Trust people.

And the the kicker... publish it to your wiki so it can crowd manage itself! :) -  well that's the plan... I have not managed to find the time for the wiki bit yet.
