slightly off topic given the thread, but what issues did you get with
the raspberry pi?
I have one as a media center and originally was using the raspbmc images.
They had issues, mostly network related (indirectly)
When i switched to openelec i've found it much more stable and much more
responsive.
the other issue i had was voltage drop from my power supply, the early
pi's had a poly fuse on the usb socket and the voltage drop across just
that component was often .3 or .4 of a volt, enough to make the pi do
strange things.
I got round this by using an overspecced power supply.
