Subject: URGENT ATTENTION, Prime Minister may lost around 50,000 votes this morning
Hi
I am an Australian with Iranian background.
I watched TV (ABC24) this morning. Malcolm Turnbull whom I admire as our Prime Minister while giving a speech in South Australia used some words that has caused self-harm to his campaign.
He used Arabian Gulf instead of the historical and correct name of Persian Gulf. There are over 40,000 Ex-Iranian voters residing in Australia who are extremely sensitive to this name. They are extremely nationalist about their origin and even their children who may have been born in Australian still have a strong affiliation with the name of Persian Gulf. Maicolm's speech using another name for Persian Gulf may have had a strong negative impact on their votes for Liberal Party.
The people who have written the speech for Malcolm have made a big mistake. because there are over 40,000 Australian-Iranian voters where there may be only one or two thousands voters from the countries on the south of Persian Gulf residing in Australia.
As I am interested in Liberal party economical policies and particularly in Malcolm Turnbull's character and his dignity, I would like Malcolm wins this election, so, I recommend that in another speech, he uses the words Persian Gulf to remedy the previous mistake in a dignified way in order to gain the Iranian votes. I assure you that it will have impressive effect on the ex-Iranian Voters.
I like Malcolm and his policies, but definitely he has lost many ex-Iranian votes today unless the damage is repaired adequately and quickly.
Kind regards
