Respected All,
Sister Gulie from Yezidis International has been trying to firm up the schedule for the next couple of months and was trying to figure out if the Zoroastrian community and the Yezidis can meet to express some solidarity for each other at this hour of need. Many Yezidis were killed last year, many thousands of sisters were kidnapped and made sex-slaves, many are still in ISIS custody. Half a million people were made internal refugees and are living in the camps in sub-human conditions. Even 1 and half years after the genocide began, many families , including little children still are perishing in large numbers often while making the journey from Turkey to Greece in rubber boats across oceans in their flight to freedom from religious persecution. A awareness campaign with a photo-exhibition in Los Angeles or anywhere else in US and worldwide would be a great idea as knowledge is power and the world needs to know that what happened to the Yezidis is simply not right. Also people worldover need to know that Yezidis are not alone in their fight for survival and communities worldwide, who have fought this fight before and survived are standing with them today, lending a hand. The Zoroastrian community worldwide has always stood for what is right and Yezidis are counting on the community for solidarity and moral support. Again a photo-exhibition, a meeting of hearts and souls, a show of support would be historic. We can bring the Hindus and other communities along as well. Sister Gulie can travel in March first week. She is in Nebraska.
There is a prophesy among the Yezidis that in the days of gloom all the Aryas will come together. The event I see is a fulfillment of that prophesy.
