Setting Up Multiple Servers

Hello:

We need to set up dual Sun Enterprise 3000 servers running Sybase Adaptive
Server v11.5, with a pseudo-failover capability, where processes are
automatically
started on one machine when the other fails, and are automatically
transfered
back when the failed machine comes back up.

We've seen the Replication server option, where we could use mirrored
databases,
but if possible, we'd like to keep a single database (running on a separate
RAID
unit), and run a single copy of Adaptive Server on each of the two machines,
and
have both of them connect to the same database.

Is this possible? Has someone had experience doing it?
