trying to write when connection is expecting a read

I've starting having this problem on two servers now, that have a
cis connection to another server.. the problem that occurs is:

I've been on the phone with support for ever trying to figure this
out. This
only happens when I try to do an update on a remote table via the
proxy table..
Any ideas?? Thanks Brian
