bcp strange behaviour

I am trying to get the data from a "|" delimited file into a sybase
table.
it has 5 columns 2 varchar and 3 numeric which can he null.
when i bcp the data from file into table all the characters fields go
propely while the numeric field
values doesnt go properly it inserts zero.
I am using -c option and i tried ll combination but nothing seems to
work.
Can anyone please help me ??
