hi all,

I am trying to set up a DB Hosting Environment using SQL Server 2000.

The current setup is supported by SQL Server 7.0, where when ever a new user
is created for the corresponding database requested, he is given db_owner
role along with public role.

When user logs in with the account, apart from accessing various objects,
user is also allowed to access his database's properties in READ ONLY mode.
he can see the current allocation for his data n log files and also can see
the other database level properties, but can't change any of them.

Same kind of prison i want to form around user login in SQL Server 2000. but
while following the steps same as above (i.e. of SQL Server 7.0), users are
still allowed to change the database settings, and THIS IS NOT DESIRABLE.

Can anybody help me solving this problem to setup a secured Db Hosting
Environment. Any kind of help will be appreciated.

I will be highly obliged if somebody can revert back to me with solution at
shre...@directi.com

thanking in advance.

Shrenik.
