'Acknowledging upload' takes very long time during sync

Hi,
We are using 'Sync Progress Dialog' in our .net application. Mobilink
sync takes very long time, something like 10 mins. However this does
not happen always. Sometimes mobilink finishes within a minute or two.
When mobilink takes a long time, we notice that 'Sync Progress Dialog'
keeps updating status as 'Acknowledging upload' for a long time.
'Acknowledging upload' messages keep repeating one after other for a
long time. Once 'Acknowledging upload' status messages are over, rest
of the sync finishes very quickly.
We are not sure why it hangs at 'Acknowledging upload' for a long
time. This is a 2-way publication (downloadonly=False), where it
hangs. There is one more 'Download Only' publication in the
application, which does not take much time to finish.
We are really frustrated with this problem. Also since we can't
duplicate it always as it won't happen during every synch, its
difficult to find a reason behind it.
If somebody can tell us on why this could happen or point us in
directions where we can look further to find what may be going wrong
with the mobilink or our application,we will be very grateful.
