Yes, the temp directories for ASA9 and ASA11 was the issue exactly.
ONLY ASTMP was set, NOT SATMP. As soon as I set that (and fixed a few
syntax issues that had been changed since ASA9 dbunload) and it worked
fine (although a little differently).

Thanks again for pointing me toward the docs where it was indicated.
Now I can get on to the fun part (regression testing).
