Does anyone know where I can obtain an ODBC driver for SQL Anywhere
version 9.0.2? It doesn't need to be free but it needs to be cheaper
than $300. For $300 I think I can buy a single license of SQL Anywhere
version 9.0.2 which, I presume, would include the ODBC driver.

We've got an application that was written/is using SQL Anywhere 9.0.2
and we just want to use Access to perform queries and do reporting on
data in the database. This is on a small application on a very small
network so performance issues are not a concern.

If you have a license to use the SQL Anywhere database server the
drivers to connect to the server should also be included...

Yeah, that's the strange part. The software is some kind of scale
management software from Mettler Toledo and the install doesn't
install an ODBC driver. It's installed on a Vista 64-Bit box. I didn't
perform the install myself so I don't know if the ODBC driver just
failed to install or if it wasn't part of the package.

The client I'm working with (who owns the store and the scales, etc)
has asked MT about obtaining these drivers and they just told them to
look around on the web, indicating that they aren't going to help or
else cannot legally provide the driver for free.

Please ensure that accessing the data outside of the vendors application
complies with that vendors licensing.

Can you check for the file dbodbc9.dll in your install. If it is not
installed and the application vendor is unwilling (or unable) to provide
it, you will need to purchase a license. You should discuss the
specifics with sales.
