After installing the EBF #2065 for ASA 8 the plugin won't start. I get
the error :

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sybase/asa/ASAUtils
at com.sybase.asiq.plugin.ASAProvider.startup(ASAProvider.java)
at
com.sybase.central.viewer.ScjViewerSupport.initialize(ScjViewerSupport.java)
at com.sybase.central.viewer.SybaseCentral.run(SybaseCentral.java)
at com.sybase.central.viewer.SybaseCentral.main(SybaseCentral.java)

when I start up SC. I have tried to register it again, but without any
luck. When I try to load it inside the Sybase Central Plug-ins window
I get the following message :

Hmm.

One last try....

Can you two type in "scjview.exe -batch" and look at the contents of the sybasecentral.bat file that is created in the
current directory. Make sure that it points to the v131 JRE in your directory and doesn't point to any jar files from
an older version of ASA.

You need entries for Sybase Central 4.1 as it is the version that ships with
ASA8.

Were you using the Beta version of ASA 8 earlier?

I believe there *may* have been a problem with the Beta uninstall, and
a thorough install of the final version required these steps: Install
final version, uninstall it, then install it again.

Those were the steps that made a whole bunch of "environmental"
problems go away for me, anyway.

For now I have given up. I had to reinstall ASA 8. It was not enough
to insert the CD and install again, I had to remove ASA and install
again. Havent tried to install the patch yet. Havent got the time.
Several others her had the same problem, and yes they all got SQL
Anywhere 5.504, 7.03. Some of them also got ASA 6 installed. It is not
a option to deinstall those, because we need them on a daily basis.

I have registered this as a bug at Sybase, CaseXpress. Hope they will
fix it. I will try the EBF later when I have the time.

Tanks so far for the sugestions.

That was it Breck - thanks much.
Un-installing the product and re-installing and adding ebf now works fine.
