Enterprise Analysis via Portal

It has been our experience during an evaluation of the enterprise use of PD, that the portal's functionality centers on displaying model contents, ie, search of similarly named entities or tables (contains, but not =), viewing for informational purposes only. I make this statement because I am unable to print results, or export to excel to document gap analysis. I am also not able to search based on an extended attribute, which may be of relivance for enterprise analysis purposes. Therefore, if I want to display a data concept from CDM through implementation(s), do I need to do an impact analysis report (assuming all the linkages are intact to do that analysis)?

Is it a possibility to produce out of the Portal, a list of all core data concepts, their Governance extended attributes, and the Authoritative Data Source's implementation details (data type, value domain, retention), and follow links to the application that supplies this implementation?

Does anyone do this in their organization? If someone does it, I'll pursue the details, but I'd like to know if it is possible (yes it is possible or no it is not possible). Any hints are appreciated.
