Hi,

we have a Oracle 10gR2 PhysicalDataModel(PDM) and would change it into a Access2000 PDM. With the menu Database->edit current dbms...
But the Power Designer change the Column Daatype of varchar(x) and numeric(x) not into a Access Datatype like Text or integer Double..
When i Try to execute the script that the power designer create then i became errors from access because it do not know varchar or numeric..
is there somthing from with the access2k.xdb?

Do you have a Logical Data Model from which you are generating your PDM?

The PDM of the oracle DB is made with the revese engeniering from the PowerDesigner, do you mean this?

No, I was hoping, for your sake, that the physical model came from a LDM, because then you could just generate a new PDM using a different DBMS. I don't have any experience doing what you're trying to do, so I can't say for sure what you should do. You might try generating an LDM from the PDM, and then generating a new PDM using the new DBMS. That would take care of the data types and such. You may still have some work to do to tweak the new PDM, though. I'm unfamiliar with your new target DBMS. Good luck to you in your endeavor.

Cheers!
Sean
