You are missing some of the registry keys for your PVCS install. You
didn't indicate which versoin of Merant, so I don't know what
particular location you should have it in. With a relatively recent
version, I have it at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Merant\Integrations\SCC

and it contains the value:

ChangeMan Version Manager

But if you're missing that entry, it's likely that you're missing
others as well.

BTW, its normally better to post the actual text of an error message
rather than an image. There are folks who don't want to download
attachments, those who can't see them at all because of the tool their
using to access the newsgroups, and those that can and might, but
won't bother to.

Hi Bruce!!

I do checked my registry tree nodes : -
It contains the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Merant\Integrations\SCC
SCCServerName as : - Merant Version Manager

Btw :Does it effect the permissions of that node in the registry .. Please
correct , if I need to grant "Full Control" access to that registry node of
the computer .

My version of the Merant PVCS version controlling system is : 8.0.08 build
582.

No, the user should not need full control on the registry. They only
need to be able to read it.

It's been almost a year since my last response. I really don't know
what the context is anymore. What error message were you getting?

There are two registry entries that work together to enable any SCC
provider.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider\InstalledSCCProviders
This will be the list of installed providers. From the image you posted,
you should have three entries in there, along with a (Default). The Data
values for the entries "point" to a second registry entry. For example, in
mine, the entry labeled "Microsoft Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider"
contains the value "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Team Foundation Server MSSCCI
Provider".

If I go look at that key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Team Foundation Server
MSSCCI Provider - I see all kinds of settings and parameters, but the most
important two are SCCServerName and SCCServerPath. These contain the name
and file location of the DLL that implements the SCC provider interface
layer.

If you're getting the message "Unable to read registry value
\SCCServerName", I would expect that this required registry entry is missing
completely. My suggestion is to reinstall the Merant client.

You are right!! ...

I do have three vendors installed in Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider\InstalledSCCProviders]
"Functional Test ClearCase"="Software\\Rational Software\\Rational Test\\8"
"Microsoft Visual SourceSafe"="Software\\Microsoft\\SourceSafe"
"Merant Version Manager"="SOFTWARE\\Merant\\Integrations\\SCC"
