Hi guys,

I am trying to set up PowerBuilder 11 with Visual Source
Safe.

I have created a new folder and created a new workspace in
it.

I then created a sub folder for each pbl and copied the
corisponding pbls from the project I am trying to add into
sourcSafe.

I then added an old target from the project that I am trying
to add to sourceSafe and modified all the pbl locations to
represent the new file structure.

I then added a new project called logistics in the database
I created in source safe.

I then went to the properties of my workspace and selected
SourceSafe as my Source Control System, typed logistics in
the project, left the local rool directory as the default
that was pointing to the root of my local workspace.

A source safe Box then appeared asking me to connect to the
database which I did.

When Trying to apply these changes I get the following from
the consol.

Project syntax error in SccOpenProject.
Source control is in offline mode.
Restoring SCC Offline Status Cache from last backup.
Unable to initialize SCC status cache from backup
<filepath>\<filename>.pbc
Initialization of Microsoft Visual SourceSafe Failed.

Now that I have typed this it's dawned on me that the .pbc
file is a bit of a redherring and that is probably created
after i have connected to SourceSafe. (previously wondering
how to generate this file)

I am now wondering if I have some sort of issue with the
connection it's self now. However the user id and password
that I am using works when connecting to the database
through microsoft sourceSafe and I have just checked that
the user account has full read/write, checkout/in,
add/rename/delete and destroy rights for the project.

So I am still a little stumped.

Any suggestions would be appricated.

Many thanks.

Ok clocked the problem here after connecting to the database
i clicked on the '...' button to brows for a project and
just clicked ok. This selected the root of the database and
auto filled the project as "$/", AAAAAAAA.

This has allowed me to connect properly, to be continued...

Just a note - you don't put the PBLs themselves into SourceSafe. You put
the objects inside the PBLs into SourceSafe with "Add to Source Control..."
