Use Active Directory Authentication for application login

A customer of ours has asked us to us Microsoft's Active Directory to
authenicate the application users login.

Does anyone have a sample of code that uses the Active Directory Services
Interface(ADSI) COM interface to do this? I guess I need to connect to an
AD domain and try to authenticate the user, but I examples I found seem to
assume you are already connected to AD via the OS login.
