<div>Smart bulbs are for people who want to add convenience to their lighting system without having to do any actual wiring. All you have to do is screw in a light bulb and make a few taps on your smartphone. They work with in-wall fixtures and standalone lamps, and they come in a variety of sizes for both indoor and outdoor use.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>smart light download</div><div></div><div>Download File: https://t.co/ZgGsdBPfTo </div><div></div><div></div><div>Smart bulbs are also just plain fun. Want a softer, warmer light to ease your way into the morning? A color-adjustable bulb or tunable white bulb can do that. Want to set a relaxing mood for music after dinner or choose something festive for a holiday theme? Turn the lights blue, green, or whatever palette you like. Set in strategic locations, color-adjusting smart bulbs can be an integral part of your home decor, rather than just something to chase the shadows away.</div><div></div><div></div><div>After setting up each bulb, we tested scheduling, color changes, and special effects (when available). As mentioned, we also tested each bulb with a light meter to determine its maximum brightness. Because smart bulbs use an array of LEDs, which are directional in their light output, some bulbs were brighter from the top than from the side. For this reason, we measured brightness from both positions and also when the bulb was dimmed at 50% and 10%. Depending on your light fixture, you may prefer a bulb that puts out more light at the top over one that casts it out to the sides. An ideal bulb excels in both directions. You can read more about LED light properties in our guide to the best LED light bulb.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Wirecutter takes security and privacy issues seriously and investigates, as much as possible, how the companies whose products we recommend deal with customer data. As part of our vetting process for smart LED light bulbs, we looked at all of the security and data-privacy practices behind our picks. We also reached out to all of the companies that produce our top picks and had them answer an extensive questionnaire to confirm their stances on issues that we thought should be of primary concern for any potential buyer.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>In general, smart bulbs are pretty low risk when it comes to concerns about being hacked, but we always prefer to use the highest form of security, whenever possible. Notably, our runner-up, the Philips Wiz Smart Wi-Fi LED Color Bulb, is not bolstered by a few of the security measures backing our other picks, such as required login credentials and encrypted data. With some other categories of smart devices, these omissions might disqualify a product from consideration. In this limited case, we determined that using this smart bulb presents a functionally low level of real-world risk to owners, and that the worst-case scenario would be a hacker potentially having control of a light bulb (a problem that is easily fixed).</div><div></div><div></div><div>The Hue app features more than 30 preset Scenes that reflect different moods and settings in the world, such as Tropical Twilight, Palm Beach, and Soho. (You can create your own, too.) Routines, or automated actions, include a wake-up Scene that slowly turns the lights up in the morning, as well as Home and Away Modes that automatically turn the lights on and off as you enter or leave the house. You can import Routines from other apps or create your own custom ones, and the Hue app can pull in color palettes from any photo you choose.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Of course, that switch comes at a cost. LED light bulbs are more expensive up front: Our top standard LED light bulb costs around $13 for a pack of four versus $1 to $3 for most incandescent and CFL bulbs. And smart bulbs cost more up front, sometimes a lot more, than non-smart LED bulbs.</div><div></div><div></div><div>We still like our previous runner-up, the Cree Lighting Connected Max Tunable White + Color Bulb. We just found that some of the newer smart bulbs offered better brightness, more interesting features, and/or a better user interface.</div><div></div><div></div><div>We dismissed the Bulbrite Solana Smart LED Bulb because the app is slow and more difficult than it should be for controlling a smart bulb. You can find many bulbs that are easier to use and have more features for a lower price.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Smart lighting lets you create any mood and atmosphere you desire. Choose a smart light for early mornings, for late evenings or for cooking or working at home. Dim, turn off, turn on, or switch from warm to cool light using a remote control or app.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Create an ambience for any time of day with a variety of smart home lighting choices that are dimmable via remote control and, with several choices, the IKEA Home smart app. Apply a stylish touch with smart integrated lighting such as LED strip lights that can illuminate the bottom of your bed as well as the headstand. Show off your dinnerware collection with LED spotlights that are easy to install inside your cabinets. See everything clearly while preparing a meal with LED countertop lights. Let the crisp, soft light of LED wardrobe lighting strips help you see colors clearly without waking up your partner at 7am. A smart sensor only turns the light on when you open your closet or wardrobe door. Make light the star of the show with futuristic light panels that apply a stunning modern look. Set them to either warm or cold modes, which can easily be adjusted with a switch or through your smart phone. Smart lighting kits make it easy to get started by paring wirelessly controlled smart bulbs with remote controlled dimmer switches. Dim your lighting wirelessly to adapt to different activities. Besides being dimmable, you can choose smart light bulbs that have 9 color settings. Some kits also include control outlets that can connect to coffee makers and other small appliances. In addition to smart remote controls, you can light up a room with smart wireless motion sensors that can be set to 30% or 100% brightness.</div><div></div><div></div><div>From dinner parties to a late-night study sessions, the Kasa Smart dimmer switch lets you set the right atmosphere for any activity. Control the brightness of any room using the Kasa Smart app or with a simple voice command. Even group the switch with other Kasa Smart products for seamless control with a single tap of your smartphone.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Is anyone aware of a smart light bulb that can be pre-configured to play a sound file whenever turned on? Maybe also configured with a specific hue/color as well? It would need to be one with some internal storage.</div><div></div><div></div><div>also note at the present time only smart bulbs connected to a hue bridge can be used as the trigger in an Alexa routine. You could still do it with other lights connected to Smartthings by having that light coming on turn on a virtual device using a SmartThings routine, and then having the virtual device act as a Trigger in the Alexa routine. So doable, just more complicated.</div><div></div><div></div><div>As it turns out, the cheapest smart bulb is one of the best smart lights. I'm speaking of the Wyze Bulb from Seattle-based startup Wyze Labs, which you can pick up directly from the company's website at around $11 each plus shipping. With Wi-Fi radios built into each light bulb, you won't need any extra hub hardware plugged into your router in order to use them or to connect them to voice control with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant (or IFTTT). Just screw them in, turn them on, pair them with the Wyze mobile app and bask in the glow of dirt-cheap smart light.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Beyond being ridiculously cheap, these things are pretty darned good light bulbs, too. For starters, each one offers a full spectrum of white-light color temperature settings ranging from a warm, candle-like 2,700K to hotter, whiter daylight tones that approach 6,000K. You'll have a hard time finding another smart bulb that does that for less than $20, let alone one that does it for less than $10. On top of that, Wyze bulbs are some of the brightest I've tested, ranging from 880 to 921 lumens depending on what color temperature you've got them set to.</div><div></div><div></div><div>The only real downside: The Wyze app offers lighting timers and a vacation mode, but the app shortcuts feature that you use to schedule lighting changes at specific times feels a little limited. No biggie, though -- you can schedule automated lighting changes using an Alexa or Google Assistant routine (or IFTTT).</div><div></div><div></div><div>Want something more decorative? Hue is starting to release vintage-style LED Hue White bulbs" target="_blank with fake filaments twisted inside (you've probably seen bulbs just like them at your local hipster dive bar). They'd be a good pick for exposed-bulb setups where you aren't hiding your light source under a lampshade.</div><div></div><div></div><div>If you prefer Google Assistant, then you might be better off with a C by GE smart bulb" target="_blank. Maker GE Lighting is a Made for Google partner, and its LED smart bulbs are designed to pair seamlessly with your Google Home smart speaker" target="_blank and Google Nest Hub smart display" target="_blank. You don't need a hub, and you don't even need the GE smartphone or tablet app -- just turn the LED lights on and sync them with your setup right from the Google Home app. From there, you'll enjoy some of the snappiest and most responsive voice control we've tested.</div><div></div><div> 31c5a71286</div>
