Am migrating a PB 9 app to the OLE DB interface from MS SQL Sever, and
am getting:

"DBMS OLE DB is not supported in your current installation"

when I try to connect. My sqlca.dbparm string looks correct. Any
thoughts as to why this could be happening?

Are you running the Enterprise edition? You'll need that to use OLE DB.

It generally means that it cannot find the PB database interface for OLEDB
(pboleXX.dll)

No, the reason is ALWAYS that the PBOLE90.DLL could not be loaded.
Usually it's because PBOLE90.DLL could not be found; however, it could
that it is being found but a dependent DLL is not. Use the
FileMonitor application from sysinternals.com and see what is the last
file being sought when trying to connect.

Great; thank you. I see that indeed I am missing PBOLE90.DLL from my
system. I have PB 7, 8 and 9 and I see PBOLE70.DLL and PBOLE80.DLL but
no PBOLE90.DLL. Somehow our app support people must have installed OLE
DB with v7 and v8 but not with v9.

But I'm puzzled: isn't OLE DB the database interface that those of us
with MS SQL Server databases should be using? Strange that the standard
PB installation would not install it?

Thanks for any thoughts on this.
