Hi,

We are trying to convert our application to 11.5.1, which was recently
converted to 10.5.2 from 9.0. When I try to create an ODBC driver in
SQLAnywhere 11 pointing to our DB from 10.5.2, it says the dB was
created in an earlier version. How to I migrate my DB to the newer
version.

Thanks

Subhash

The SQL Anywhere that is installed with PowerBuilder is a developer's
edition -- you are only licensed to deploy the runtime edition of SQL
Anywhere (rtengX.exe where X is the version of SA) unless you obtain
licenses for the other components.

The migration (upgrading) process is covered in the SQL Anywhere
documentation. Here is the reference:

You don't have to upgrade SQL Anywhere. PowerBuilder 11.5.1 will work
perfectly fine against older databases. I would just continue using the same
version of SQL Anywhere you already were using under PB10.5.

When SQL Anywhere 10 came out, they changed the file format so a conversion
of the database is required. The instructions on how to do that should be in
the SQL Anywhere 11 documentation.

Hi Subhash;

For SA 11 you must upgrade your old database. You can migrate an SA10
database to 11 but, (from the help file) for earlier versions ...

The Upgrade Database Wizard does not upgrade a version 9.0.2 or earlier
database to version 11. To upgrade an existing database to version 11, you
must unload and reload the database using dbunload or the Unload Database
Wizard.
