Hi. I am seeing the error text pasted below when I start to install pb
11.5.
Even on the phone with Microsoft, I have been unable to install .net so that
pb is satisfied.
This problem is occurring on a new 64 bit vista machine, but when I started
to install 11.5 on my old 32 bit xp, the same error displayed.
Another developer also mentioned seeing this error--but just continued with
the installation.
He does not need .net or web services.
Does anyone know how to install .net when .net is apparently not properly
installed (broken) and...
cannot be uninstalled, and cannont be reinstalled.
I'd rather not reinstall windows... which is what Microsoft recommended.
Thanks,
Doug

Your machine does not have Microsoft .NET Framework SDK 2.0 or later
installed.
You must install Microsoft .NET Framework SDK 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5 to enable .NET
Web services
engine, Smart Client deployment and OLE support in Windows Forms.

AFAIK, that should be what you need.

Good luck,

Try this:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=FE6F2099-B7B4-4F47-A244-C96D69C35DEC&displaylang=en&displaylang=en

You do need the .NET SDK in addition to the .NET Framework.

Just search the MS download site for ".NET Framework 2.0 Software
Development Kit". That's all you need.

Good luck,

Dave, that did the job: pb now thinks that .net is installed.
Now, it's complaining about IIS not being installed.
I can't believe that M$ loads Vista with tons of (useless) software, and
they don't include .net and iis.
Well, i've googled the hell out of it, but I can't find a location that is
(for sure) just an iis install.
Do you have that link?
Thanks,
Doug

I don't know if IIS is available as a download but it comes with Vista
(Home Premium edition and above). Go into the control panel, select
Programs and Features and then click on Turn Windows Features on or
off. When the dialog loads scroll down to Internet Information
Services and select Web Management Tools and World Wide Web Services.
You will probably get prompted for the Vista install DVD.
