I'm getting this error when I try to deploy my project.

---------- Deploy: Deploy of project student
The current library list is different than the library list contained within
this project. The project library list has been updated. Specify build
options for the updated list and try again.
---------- Finished Deploy of project student

I see which PBL is causing the problem, but I can't get it to change in the
project painter. It's stuck on an old location. A number of other PBLs
have been moved, and their locations have been updated fine. Could I edit
this list in some text file somewhere to get past this? Or is there a
forced re-generation of the list option somewhere?

Hi Laurel;

This is not as bad as it seems.

1) Open the Project in the Project Painter.
2) Select the "Deploy" icon on the lower tool bar.
3) You will get the library error message as you have already stated. Ignore
this.
4) Save the Project as this point.
5) Check the library list ... it should now match your Target's library
list. :-)
6) Review the library list and set their appropriate PBD/DLL and/or PBR
context as before.
7) Exit the painter and save the Project.
8) Use the RHMB on the project and select deploy. Now it should work.

Make a backup of the PBL containing the project, then optimize the
project. Also verify that your library path is correct. (I know, I
know... but check anyway. :D ) If everything is set right and an
optimization doesn't fix it, you can try exporting the project, fixing
it in Notepad, and importing it again.

And at the very worst... just recreate the darn thing.

Thanks for your help. I had been struggling with the same
problem. Only thing that resolved it was exporting the
project, editing the file paths through a text editor and
importing back..

Why is PB so unintuitive, unlike Windows apps :-<

Actually, in most circumstances, by the time you see this message, PB
has already fixed the library paths for you. Pressing Deploy again
will actually successfully start the build (although saving the
project at some point after the fix will avoid going through the same
charade the next time).

PB was actually being more helpful than you were anticipating; it was
just too modest to brag about it. <g>

Good luck,

This message is fine if you had the project painter open as you will
also be prompted to save the project if you close it.

Powerbuilder should log a difference message if the painter isn't
open. This is a pretty basic user interface defect that has
unfortunately been in the product for years. And there's heaps of
other examples in PB.
