I'm running PB v8.0.4 Build 10501.

I have an application to which I've added an MS-SQL
Server2000 connection via ODBC. I've defined the DSN, tested
the connection, etc...

The app runs fine from the IDE, but when I build and execute
outside of the IDE, I am receiving the message:

"The ordinal 13013 could not be located in the dynamic link
library PBVM80.dll"

I believe the error is somehow related to the ODBC
libraries/drivers, but I cannot find this specific message
on Sybase's tech support web site.

My build directory contains the following dll's:
libjsybheap.dll
pbvm80.dll
pbodb80.dll
pbdwe80.dll
pblib80.dll
pborc80.dll
pbrtc80.dll
pbsys80.dll
pbtra80.dll

Any idea what's generating the error?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

I think you are missing libjcc.dll.
Are all the dlls from the same build?
Any duplicate dlls floating around?

Terry,
Thanks for the quick response!

Your absolutely right, I'd missed the libjcc.dll in my
original post. The file is indeed in in the build
directory.

I'm taking the shotgun approach ... I've copied all of the
dll's
from the "shared" directory. The build version runs fine.
Now I'm in the process of trying to weed out which one(s) I
actually need.

I know, I know... slow and painful. Some of the unnecessary
dll's are obvious, and if it gets me there then worth the
trouble.

If you discover the solution... I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks again!

The error

"The ordinal 13013 could not be located in the dynamic link
library PBVM80.dll"

is almost always the result of mismatched DLLs. I recommend that you run
ListDlls from http:\\www.sysinternals.com and use its output to determine
the differences. You can capture just the application by launching ListDlls

The Application Techniques manual lists the DLLs you need. Sounds a
lot simpler than "weeding."

Good luck,

Thanks to both Terry's and Chris for the response.

Terry Voth was good enough to provide the solution you never
consider, but is the most obvious... "look in Application
Techniques". Thanks also for leaving off the "RTFM" part.

It was right there in black and white.. imagine that!

Everything working great now!

Thanks again!
