Isn't there anyway you could set a button control in a datawindow to
enable/disable depending on a datawindow expression?

It is possible to set datawindow expressions on properties like: visible,
text, alignment, and more... but with the enabled property it's only a
checkbox (on/off) with no 'button' for the datawindow expression.

That's been a long standing enhancement request. I just use Visible.

Or manually trap it in the ButtonClicked() event to prevent it... Also
change the text color...

I thought that I could enable/disable it in the retrieveend event with:

this.object.control_name[row].enabled = FALSE

But this syntax is not valid and without the array notation [row] it turns
it on/off on all rows.

Is it not possible to set this depending on rows?

The way properties are set on a row-by-row basis is with an expression.
Since Enabled does not support expressions (note there is no button in the
painter), you are out of luck. Put in an enhancement request at ISUG and/or
Case Express and hope it gets put into 12.
