Hi I'm sorry but I guess this one has been asked many times
before but I can't seem to find the answer by executing a
search.

I have a relatively simple nested report that I am passing
arguments from columns retrieved by the 'parent' report and
I keep getting 'Nest arguments are incorrectly specified',
once for each parent row returned.

The nested report does work in it's own right.

This is driving me nuts!!
It should be soo simple shouldn't it?

I've seen this on occasion. Closing the painter and regen'ing usually solve
the problem. And you're sure the arguments are the correct data type? Yes,
this is a simple procedure, but sometimes PB just won't cooperate.

Yes, I seem to remember I've experienced it before!! I've
re-gen'd and yes, the variable types are all ok. The only
additional thing I've thought of is, do I need to have the
arguments I'm using in the 'parent' dw or is it ok for them
to come from columns returned. I will try that this
afternoon as I'm working on another project at the moment.
It would be much easier concentrating on one thing, I am a
man after all!!

OK, I've fixed it now. Two of the arguments were e.g. 10.00
and 3.00 so I naturally put them as Numbers but they're
Strings would you believe. I just couldn't see the wood for
the trees. Doh!!
