"DeviceID" environment property

According to the PocketBuilder documentation, the "DeviceID"
environment property gives a "Unique value for the device hosting the
operating system".

We have been using this value to uniquely identify the PDA's. Today we
ran into a situation where 2 devices (same brand/model/supplier etc)
have the exact same DeviceID. Has anyone come across this ? any
suggestions is welcome.

yes it's well known that device ids are not reliable.
From my experience you cannot get the imei code.
One solution is to get the owner's name... and expect it will never be
the same on two devices.....

If you are using Symbol devices, you can actually set the device name
as part of the device configuration.
